Attorney Profile
Juan-Carlos Andaluz
Advocacy Grounded in Science, Experience, and Results
Juan-Carlos (JC) Andaluz, Esq., is a Personal Injury Attorney specializing in Traumatic Brain
Injury (TBI) and Spinal Cord Injury cases. Prior to joining the firm, JC represented patients and
insureds against wrongful denials by private health insurance companies and managed-care
Medicare and Medicaid organizations. He successfully litigated cases in state and federal court,
including a landmark injunction against one of the largest health insurance companies, securing
lifesaving surgery for a client whose coverage had been wrongfully denied as “not medically
necessary.” JC also fought for individuals with disabilities who had been wrongfully deprived of
personal care services and private duty nursing services by the Agency for Persons with
Disabilities (APD), holding them accountable and fighting for the rights of those he represented
so they could live independently, integrated in the community, and with dignity, as mandated by
Olmstead v. L.C., 527 U.S. 581 (1999).
JC’s legal career is deeply informed by his personal experience and a foundation in Neural
Science (Neuroscience). He graduated from New York University with a degree in Neural
Science and earned his law degree from NSU Shepard Broad College of Law, graduating Summa
Cum Laude in December 2021 with a concentration in Health Law. He passed the Florida Bar
Examination in July 2022 and was admitted to practice law in New York on September 2025. JC
is currently in the process of applying for admission to the District of Columbia (Washington,
D.C.) Bar.
JC’s dedication to advocacy is rooted in a profoundly personal journey. On December 2, 2014,
his mother was the victim of a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that left her with a severe
traumatic brain injury. The insurance company initially refused to cover the lifesaving
rehabilitation she needed, forcing JC and his family to bear the full cost of her recovery and
treatment. Through relentless advocacy and his expertise in Neural Science, JC helped his
mother achieve a remarkable recovery, restoring her independence and dignity. Their journey is
chronicled in “Hope for Traumatic Brain Injury Survivors”. Having been personally wronged by
insurance malfeasance, JC understands firsthand the challenges faced by those navigating the
system, and he brings that insight, empathy, and determination to every case he handles.
Beyond his legal practice, JC provides pro bono services to individuals with disabilities through
the NSU Disability Inclusion and Advocacy Law (DIAL) Clinic and has offered legal assistance
in Family Law, Elder Law, Guardianship Law, Condominium Law, and Immigration Law. He is
particularly passionate about supporting TBI survivors worldwide, helping them navigate
recovery and regain hope as he did with his mother.
JC is also a devoted animal lover, sharing his life with seven fur babies: Petito, a teacup
chihuahua; Coco, a golden terrier; and five cats — Hades, Apollo, Britney, Athena, and
Artemisa. He enjoys rescuing and fostering pets, spending time with his family, and playing
video games on PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
JC is also a trained chef, and in his free time he enjoys creating original recipes across Italian,
Latin American, Asian, and French cuisines for his mother and friends — he especially loves
hosting dinner parties. He enjoys playing chess, reading poetry and literature and watching
science-fiction and horror films and shows.
